April 2008

During April, Joshua was STAR-Student-of-the-week in his kindergarten class. We had to send in pictures of Joshua and our family and Joshua also wrote things about himself like favorite foods, favorite color, etc. One of the things he wrote about was his favorite thing to play. He LOVES playing Star Wars with his Daddy. Here's the picture we took to send in...

Joshua's school does an annual book float parade. His school is K-6 and each child was invited to create a float, poster, sign, etc to hold up in the parade. The item had to have the name of a book and who wrote it displayed somewhere on it. Here is Joshua right before the parade began. He picked a pretty silly book (I Ain't Gonna Paint No More! By Karen Beaumont) and we had a great time creating his sign...

Tylee turned 10 months old. At about 8 and 1/2 months Tylee decided to skip crawling and began scooting over to walls, furniture, and tables to pull herself up and walk. By 10 months she was balancing to walk short distances (from coffee table to couch, from one side of the door way to the other, etc). She is also starting to recognize (and enjoy) the camera and having her picture taken. Check out that cheesy grin!

I'm usually behind the camera, but here's a picture Lowell snapped of Tylee and I. I think she was all pictured out by this time because she wasn't so full of cheesy grins.

At the end of April Joshua performed in a Jungle Play with his kindergarten class. He was a Zebra. They did a lot of practicing in the months and weeks before the performance. It was such a great experience for Joshua. We had a blast watching him be a Zebra and of course, we took tons of pictures. Here's one of all the zebras (Joshua is the fourth one from the left) and one of Joshua singing one of the songs...

He memorized 3 different lines and 5 or 6 songs for the play. He did such a great job! We were so proud of him!!
